I started selling on Amazon FBA in early 2023, doing wholesale and online arbitrage as a Canadian seller. The product side of the business was working — I was finding deals, building relationships with brands, and growing fast. But there was one part of the operation that kept breaking: the prep work.
At first I did it myself. Every week, I'd spend 15-20 hours labeling, polybagging, bundling, and prepping inventory for Amazon's requirements. It worked, but it was eating the time I needed for sourcing and brand outreach. Worse, when I made mistakes — wrong FNSKU labels, wrong polybag thickness, missing UPC stickers — my shipments would get held at the FC and I'd lose days of revenue.
So I tried using a US-based prep center. The pricing was decent, but the experience was painful. Cross-border shipping ate into my margins. Customs delays caused stockouts on Amazon. FX conversion was unpredictable. And worst of all, the team didn't really understand Amazon — they treated FBA prep as just another warehousing job. I'd get prep mistakes flagged by Amazon weeks later, with no way to recover the lost time.
I tried a Canadian 3PL next. Same story, different accent. They were generic warehousing operators who learned about FBA prep on the job. Their pricing was opaque (always quoted "custom"), their communication was slow, and their team couldn't answer basic questions about Amazon's account health metrics.
That's when I realized: the gap in the Canadian market wasn't a lack of 3PLs. It was a lack of 3PLs that actually understood the Amazon FBA seller. A 3PL that thinks like an operator, not like a warehouse. A 3PL that prices transparently, communicates fast, and treats account health as a shared responsibility.
I started PrepKingz in 2024 to build exactly that. Canadian-based, Amazon-native, bilingual, transparent pricing, and operated by people who lived the pain points first. The kind of 3PL I wished existed when I started.
We're not the biggest 3PL in Canada. We're not trying to be. We're trying to be the best 3PL for serious Amazon sellers who want to scale without operational drag. That's the entire mission.
"If you're a Canadian Amazon seller tired of choosing between a US prep center that doesn't care or a Canadian 3PL that doesn't understand FBA — that's why we built PrepKingz."
